Register to Vote or Update Your Registration

The deadline to register to vote in an election is the fourth Wednesday prior to the election.  If registering by mail, your voter registration must be postmarked on the fourth Wednesday prior to the election.

The voter registration qualifications in Missouri are as follows:

  • 17 1/2 years of age to register, 18 years of age to vote
  • US Citizen
  • Missouri Resident

If you are registering to vote in Cole County for the first time, you will need to show your ID in order for us to mail you your voter identification card.  You can show ID in person at our office at 311 E High St Rm 201 Jefferson City, MO 65101, by email at skorsmeyer@colecounty.org, or when you vote at your polling place on Election Day.

The Clerk's Office will send you confirmation of your registration and give you your voting location.

Problems


 If you haven't received your notification within 2 weeks, you should call our office at 573-634-9101. If you have received your letter, but your name or address is incorrect, please call our office.
