Project: Tanner Bridge Road Safety Improvements Project Category: Safety Improvements Engineer: Central Missouri Professional Services Completion: Fall 2019 Description:
Five locations on Tanner Bridge Rd from Route B to Grand Highlands Subdivision have been identified for safety improvements. Construction may begin in 2017 on one of the five.
Design is complete on the improvement at Tara Rd and we are beginning the Right of Way acquisition phase. Construction is expected to begin in 2019 at Tara Rd and unknown on the rest of the sections. We are close to acquiring all the ROW and plan to have the project out to bid in August 2019.
Tanner Bridge Road is closed at the Tara Road intersection effective today, October 28th. The original news release was issued on October 11th and this is just a reminder. Don Schnieders Excavating Company, Inc., a local company, was awarded a contract to make improvements to Tanner Bridge Road near the Tara Road intersection as well as realign the intersection. The contractor will have up to 30 days to finish the project and have the road back open. The tentative open date is November 27th.
During the road closure, motorists on Tanner Bridge Road will have to use a signed detour on Route B to Friendship Road. Due to the nature of the work being done, the road must be closed to thru traffic but local residents affected by the project will still be able to access their property. Signing and message boards will help guide motorists through the area during construction.
