Assistant Chief Jessica Kampeter, BSN, EMT-P

All professional training of Cole County Emergency Medical Services's Training and Logistics Divisions are led by Assistant Chief Jessica Kampeter. Chief Kampeter started her EMS career in 2013 as a Volunteer EMT with Cole County First Responders and then joined CCEMS in 2014. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Drury University in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry and Global Studies. During her time at Drury University she was also a student-athlete and member of the Drury Women’s Soccer Team where she received All-American Honors. After graduating in 2011, she went on to play soccer in the Women’s Premier Soccer League and W-League, both second divisions in the United States, until 2014 when she went back to school and received her Bachelor’s of Nursing from the University of Missouri in 2015.

Chief Kampeter worked full-time as a Emergency Room Registered Nurse at Capital Region Medical Center and as a Varsity Assistant Coach of the me’s soccer team at Jefferson City High School until August of 2019, when she accepted her current position as Chief of Training with CCEMS. As third in the Chain of Command at CCEMS, Chief Kampeter is responsible for all aspects of training both internally and externally, medical review and quality assurance.

She was born and raised in Jefferson City and prides herself on helping others by giving back to her community. Chief Kampeter has been married for 4 years and welcomed a new baby boy to the family in October of 2018.  In her off time, she enjoys spending time on the river, fishing, and traveling with her family.
