ROAD WORK TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK
Crews will begin to work on asphalt overlays beginning on Monday, June 26th, weather permitting. Jefferson Asphalt Co. has begun milling joints on the various roads in preparation of the overlays. Weather permitting, asphalt paving is expected to begin the week of June 26th. The following roads will be overlaid this year: Rock Ridge Rd, Southridge Ct, Southridge Dr (off of Rock Ridge Rd), Foxfire Ln, Saddlebrooke Ln, and Schumate Chapel Rd. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic through the work zones. The motoring public is asked to avoid these areas and use alternate routes for the next couple of weeks while crews are working. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of September.
The Public Works department understands there will be inconveniences due to this project and we are being proactive in dealing with potential issues up front. We are excited about the long term benefits this project will bring to the County and appreciate the public’s cooperation over the course of this year.
