Property tax rates are set each year by local taxing jurisdictions within limits set forth by the Missouri Constitution and Missouri law. The Cole County Collector of Revenue is statutorily responsible for collection of tax revenue for the State of Missouri, Cole County and other political subdivisions inside Cole County.
Taxes are levied against property based on the rates as permitted by Missouri and/or Cole County voters. The approved taxes are collected by the Collector then distributed back to the various taxing entities. In other words, the Cole County Collector bills and collects property taxes on behalf of all taxing entities inside and outside the county.
